Communications is the field of study concerned with the transmission of information through various means. It can also be defined as technology employed in transmitting messages. It can also be defined as the inter-transmitting the content of data (speech, signals, pulses etc.) from one node to another. The components of a communications system serve a common purpose, are technically compatible, use common procedures, respond to controls, and operate in union. Telecommunications is a method of communication (e.g., for sports broadcasting, mass media, journalism, etc.).There are different examples of communication that we use in our day to day life such as telephone and mobile phones etc. The telephone network which we are using presently is an example of wired communication. The world has seen significant changes in the telecommunications industry. There have been some remarkable aspects to the rapid growth in wireless communication. Many practical communication systems use a network which allows for full connectivity between devices without requiring a permanent physical link to exist between two devices. Wireless systems consist of Wireless Wide-Area Networks (WWAN),Wireless Local-Area Network(WLAN) and Wireless Personal Area-Network(WPAN). Wireless transmission plays a vital role in communication networks.
